JESSICA FORBES
Director / Teacher
I grew up in Durham, New Hampshire and attended Oberlin College where I got my B.A
My first contact with Spain was when I was 12, living in Granada for 4 months. I barely spoke Spanish when I arrived, however it was an amazing experience and really cemented my love for languages and Spanish in particular. I ended up returning to Spain on a study abroad program in college and then later for good.
I started out teaching both Spanish and English in college and then went on to get my CELTA once I had moved to Seville. Now, I’ve been teaching for over 15 years and I have to say that I really enjoy the variety that comes with teaching as well as the contact with my students. I love the challenge of helping them improve and advance. Everyone has different objectives and learns differently and it is part of a teacher’s job to figure each student out and decide what will motivate them the most.
I also do translations (mostly scientific and technical) and have recently taken the DipTrans in order to get certified. I find working with both people and languages to be very fulfilling.
